Let Me Introduce Myself

I'm Anna, and today, I graduated high school.  About seven and a half hours ago, I was walking on stage, desperately hoping not to re-enact Lizzie McGuire at her graduation ceremony. Fortunately, I didn't. I spent the afternoon preparing for my party tomorrow. How my tiny house will accommodate 65+ people, I don't know. But at least we'll have lots of iced tea and orzo salad!

Now my summer begins. I have roughly 2.5 months left in my hometown with my endearing mother, optimistic father, stylish younger sister Maddy, and our witty Chinese exchange student, Lulu. Starting next week, I work at HomeGoods - which has proven to be its own microcosm thus far, but that's another post for another time. I sell Avon, too, for some supplemental income for college. Other important people in my life include my two best friends (in addition to Lulu), Amy and Alexa. I also have three wonderful cats named Sarah, Bradley, and Finnick. Others will be introduced on an as-needed basis.

Next year, I'm going to Hunter College in Manhattan to study English with a concentration in creative writing. While I'm excited, New York is sure to be an adjustment from my 20,000-person "city." Amy is going to SUNY Potsdam and we will be as far away from each other as possible without leaving New York State. Alexa is going to community college, and Lulu has one more year of high school.

I will be the only one out if forty-seven in my graduating class attending school in New York City.

I started a blog mostly because I want to be a writer, and blogs are a good way to get yourself noticed. However, I don't want to bore everyone with a web page full of text. Expect pictures, links, videos (most likely other people's), perhaps the occasional recipe, and more!

Thanks for stopping by!! :)
